Harbor Rail Services in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Railcar Repairman and Welder for a full-time, day-shift role. The job involves inspecting, repairing and servicing freight cars in compliance with industry rules, using torches, welding gear and various tools.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, fluent English, and the ability to work overtime, weekends, and be on call. Valid driver’s license preferred; CDL a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate English fluently.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and be on call 24/7.

Responsabilités

• Inspect and repair freight cars per AAR, FRA, and railroad rules.
• Remove and replace defective components on rolling stock.
• Operate welding equipment, torches and hand/power tools safely.
• Follow all safety rules and wear PPE.
• Document work on billing sheets and report to supervisor.
• Assist in opening/closing doors and lifting decks as needed.
