Job summary

Road & Rail Services is urgently hiring experienced Railroad Carman to join our rail maintenance operation in Fort Collins, CO. This full-time role requires hands-on railcar repair, welding, and metal fabrication in an outdoor environment.

Candidates should have prior railcar or railroad mechanical experience and be able to work safely with tools and equipment while following strict safety standards. Strong problem-solving skills and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant mechanical or railcar repair experience is required.
• Professional experience in railcar repair, welding, fabrication, mechanical repair, or related skilled trades.
• Hands-on experience using industrial hand and power tools.
• Welding and/or metal fabrication experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect freight railcars for damage, wear and defects.
• Identify repairs within the facility's scope of work.
• Complete railcar repairs according to customer and company requirements.
• Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and metal fabrication.
• Repair or replace damaged railcar components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and determine repair methods.
• Operate hand and power tools safely.
• Maintain tools and keep work areas organized.
