Road & Rail Services is seeking a Railcar Mechanic to inspect, repair and maintain railroad equipment in an outdoor industrial setting. The role emphasizes hands-on welding, fabrication, cutting torches, and mechanical repairs with an emphasis on safety and accuracy.

The position requires the ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems, work independently, and follow written and verbal instructions while maintaining tools and documenting inspections.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on diagnostic ability.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, cutting torches, or industrial repair.
• Ability to inspect, repair, and maintain railcars and related components.

Responsibilities

• Inspect railcars for damage, wear and defects and perform repairs.
• Conduct stick welding, cutting, grinding and metal fabrication.
• Remove or replace damaged parts and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and documentation of inspections and repairs.
