Job summary

CRRC Sifang America Incorporated in Chicago, IL, seeks a seasoned Production Supervisor to plan, organize, and control day-to-day shop floor operations. You will ensure efficient manufacturing processes, meet schedules, and manage costs while upholding safety and quality standards.

Lead a unionized workforce, coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse and Quality, and develop policies to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience managing production activities with a unionized workforce.
• Familiar with the manual assembly process.
• Proficient in MS Office; ERP systems experience preferred.
• Ability to establish new policies and procedures.
• Strong leadership and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Results-driven with ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize day-to-day shop floor operation.
• Supervise, train, and support Production Supervisors to manage production staff.
• Establish production schedules in accordance with Master Schedule.
• Ensure adequate staffing and minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement production procedures and policies.
• Oversee production processes and resolve issues impacting production.
• Coordinate production with Procurement, Warehouse, Technology and Quality departments to meet production goals.
• Control production quality and manage production costs.
• Ensure health and safety protocols are adhered to.
• Interpret and apply union contract terms appropriately.
• Respond to the needs of the main office and report to upper management.
• Other duties as assigned.
