Harbor Rail Services in Arlington, TX is hiring for a Pre-Trip Inspector. You will conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of railcars to ensure safety and readiness for service, coordinating with the maintenance team to address any issues.

Expect to inspect safety appliances, lading equipment, and interior conditions while maintaining records and adhering to safety standards. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in railcar inspection, maintenance, or related field preferred.
• Must meet all physical requirements and be able to follow directions.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English fluently and professionally.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip inspections of railcars to ensure they are in proper working order.
• Inspect lading equipment, safety appliances, interior condition of the railcar, clean debris, replace defective tiedown equipment, lubricate as needed.
• Identify and report safety concerns, defects, or maintenance needs found during inspections.
• Verify that all railcar components meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all inspection records are accurate, complete, and submitted promptly.
• Communicate with the maintenance team to address issues identified during inspections.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment following safety guidelines.
• Report discrepancies to the Location Supervisor and participate in safety trainings.
• Ensure inspection tools and equipment are in good working condition.
