Job summary

Guardian Rail is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to apply solvent and water-based paints to railcar interiors and exteriors. You will read work orders, mix and apply coatings, and maintain logs while following FRA, AAR, and client specifications.

Role requires safety awareness, ability to work in a team, pass fitness for duty, and background checks. Familiarity with cup guns, airless spray systems, and finishing equipment is helpful.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and communicate English proficiently.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to learn function-specific operational details and pass a knowledge exam.
• Pass fitness for duty, background check, and drug screen as required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret work orders to apply coatings to railcars and tank cars.
• Setup and operate painting equipment and maintain logs.
• Paint interior and exterior surfaces with water-based or epoxy enamel coatings.
• Dismantle/assemble finishing equipment and ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Maintain inventory of paints and supplies; perform quality checks.
• Ensure a clean, organized work area and proper decal/ stencil applications.
