Job summary

Guardian Rail is seeking an entry-level associate to perform railcar interior cleaning and assist with inspection and maintenance of cleaning equipment. You will read work orders, follow Guardian Rail EHS policies, and participate in safety procedures while supporting a team in both indoor and outdoor environments.

The role emphasizes reading and understanding procedures, performing tasks safely, and maintaining thorough documentation as required by QA processes and customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate English at a proficient level.
• Ability to learn functional operational details and pass an exam to demonstrate knowledge.
• Ability to learn, follow and perform required recordkeeping of Guardian Rail EHS, QA and Cleaning policies, procedures, and checklists.
• Knowledge of equipment and tools required to perform safe entry for cleaning.
• Perform/ prioritize multiple tasks with attention to details.
• Ability to wear and care for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety boots, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, respirators, and protective suits.
• The duties of this job require fully passing the fitness for duty examination.

Responsibilities

• Interpret job work orders to perform required cleaning of railcar interiors per procedures.
• Coordinate and complete cleaning in an efficient manner and within assigned hours.
• Notify supervisor of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks.
• Interact with crew members in a team environment, as well as with supervisor.
• Follow all safety rules, keep work area clean and comply with all Guardian Rail Environmental Health and Safety Policies.
• Complies with company's Quality program by following all in house quality processes and procedures and required AAR and FRA rules and regulations as well as any client specific procedures.
• Any other general labor duties as assigned.
