Job summary

TrinityRail in Bluffton, IN is seeking a Career Technician, Mobile Repair/Driver to inspect and repair railcars, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across field operations. You will read drawings, perform repairs, and document work details for customer invoicing.

The role requires 1.5+ years in railcar maintenance or related work, with welding or mechanical experience preferred, and a valid driver's license, plus ability to pass DOT medical and road tests.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of railcar maintenance or manufacturing experience or proficiency in listed qualifications.
• Ability to read engineered drawings.
• Welding/valve/mechanical experience preferred.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to pass required DOT medical/physical.

Responsibilities

• Conduct railcar inspections to ensure compliance with repair procedures.
• Perform repairs using current repair procedures to meet customer expectations.
• Maintain accurate invoicing, inspection, and work order information.
• Mentor/train lower-level technicians as needed.
• Follow all safety rules and participate in safety assessments.
