Road & Rail Services is hiring a dependable Railcar Repairman / Railcar Mechanic in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Starting pay is $22.00 per hour, with higher starting pay negotiable based on experience, welding ability, mechanical background, and relevant qualifications.

Join a team repairing railcars in an active industrial environment; training and safety procedures are emphasized. Prior railroad experience is preferred but not required if you have solid transferable mechanical skills.

Qualifications

• Railroad repair experience preferred but not required if there is strong transferable mechanical experience.
• Experience in railcar/railroad repair, welding, metal fabrication, industrial maintenance, diesel or heavy-equipment repair, or trailer repair is a good fit.
• Candidates should be comfortable using common hand and power tools such as grinders, pipe wrenches, pry bars, ratchets, wrenches.

Responsabilités

• Inspect railcars for mechanical problems, structural damage, wear and fatigue.
• Identify repairs within the scope of work.
• Complete approved mechanical and structural repairs.
• Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication as required.
• Operate equipment when trained and authorized.
• Maintain tools and work areas; follow safety procedures.
