Job summary

Savage Services is hiring at its Lima, OH location for a rail operations role. You will load railcars safely, follow detailed operating procedures, and possibly operate a locomotive after training and certification.

We provide on-the-job training, safety-focused culture, and opportunities for growth within a supportive team environment. Expect a rotating shift, with holidays and weekends as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; safety-focused mindset.
• Willingness to attend training courses including OSHA HazMat and FRA.
• Able to learn rail operating procedures and follow directions precisely.

Responsibilities

• Load railcars safely and efficiently at the Lima operation.
• Learn and follow extensive rail operating procedures after training.
• Operate locomotives if certified and perform switchman duties as needed.
• Manage tasks in loading racks and record activities in the computer system.
• Inspect railcars before loading and take product samples.
• Perform pre-shift maintenance walk-downs to keep systems running.
