Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC seeks a Field Repair Technician to inspect railcars, perform repairs, welding, and related tasks under supervision. The role includes documenting work on repair cards and supporting safety procedures on site.

You will work with a team across rail division, use torches for cutting and welding, and progress toward higher-level field repair responsibilities as you gain skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge and general use of hand and power tools.
• Jacket Welding experience is a Plus; Air Brake Testing experience is a Plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs limited railcar repair including general car repair, blasting, cleaning, and touch-up tasks.
• Documents work completed on Billing Repair Cards/Work Orders.
• Interacts with crew in a team environment and follows supervisor instructions.
• Performs mechanical repairs to safety appliances and running gear under supervision.
