Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC is looking for a Field Repair Technician C to inspect and repair railcars under supervision, including heating, cutting and welding as needed. You will document work, follow safety policies, and support rail division tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma, welding and air-brake certifications, and the ability to work as part of a crew with emphasis on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge and general use of hand and power tools.
• Jacket Welding Certification.
• Air Brake Test Certification per AAR Publication S-486.

Responsibilities

• Performs limited railcar repair to meet regulatory, quality and shop needs.
• Interact with crew members and supervisors in a team environment.
• Perform mechanical repairs to safety appliances and running gear under supervision.
• Prepare broken parts for welding and perform welds as directed.
• Document work completed on billing/repair cards and work orders.
