Job summary

Loadstar in Missouri is seeking a dedicated rail yard worker responsible for safe and efficient railcar switching and locomotive operations. Strong communication is required to move railcars in, out, and around the facility, with preference for experience in railyard operations or chemical plant loading.

Responsibilities include inspecting tracks, spotting and loading railcars, ensuring braking security, weighing inbound/outbound loads, and adhering to weight restrictions and DOT certification

Qualifications

• Must currently possess a valid, unexpired TWIC and driver's license.
• Must be able to follow OSHA safety standards and be safety conscious at all times.
• Should be comfortable working at heights and near the water.
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Stable work history with good references from past employers.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Examine track list to determine which railcars are to be spotted, loaded, and/or shipped.
• Proceed to designated track(s) to separate railcars and ensure space for inbound railcars.
• Separate inbound railcars and spot for loading/discharge.
• Ensure spotted railcars are secured by applying brakes.
• Pull and separate loaded railcars for shipment.
• Check outbound railcars to ensure proper connections.
• Weigh inbound and outbound loads and empties.
• Ensure weight on outbound loads complies with DOT limits.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
