Job summary

Omaha Track, Inc. is seeking a Scale House Operations Specialist in Omaha, NE. This hands-on clerical role supports daily rail yard operations, inventory control, truck and rail movements, shipping documentation, and customer service.

Based in a scale house trailer, you will frequently move through the yard to verify railcars, update records, and assist with ongoing yard activities. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and strong communication,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience in an office support role is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with scheduling appointments and managing calendars
• Process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
• Maintain office supplies inventory and reorder as needed
• Assist with organizing and maintaining office files and records
• Provide general support to office staff as needed
• Complete various administrative tasks as assigned
• Weigh all railcars and trucks in/out
• Release railcars as needed
• Balance yard inventories
• Maintain and balance orders being shipped
• Update cars storage sheets
• Track ongoing projects on spreadsheets
• Enter all BoL's into OTIS
