Job summary

CBS Building Maintenance, Inc. is seeking a dependable porter to join our apartment community team. The role involves maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming common areas and assisting with overall property cleanliness.

Schedule: 5 days a week, 4 hours per day (8 AM–12 PM). Responsibilities include cleaning rail yard areas, restrooms, offices, and common spaces, restocking supplies, and following all safety rules. PPE such as steel-toe boots, hard hat, and safety goggles are required.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial, porter, cleaning, or industrial cleaning experience preferred.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Ability to perform physical cleaning duties, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying.
• Must be able to work safely in an active rail yard environment.
• Reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
• Must follow all railroad, client, and company safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the rail yard and facility areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform general cleaning duties.
• Remove trash, debris, and waste from designated areas.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, offices, break rooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Maintain cleanliness around the rail yard and building entrances.
• Restock cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
• Follow all rail yard safety rules and company policies.
• Report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
• Perform other cleaning and porter duties as assigned.
