Job summary

Cypress Rail Solutions is seeking an experienced Welding Administrator to oversee welding quality, compliance, and training across multiple repair locations. The role combines classroom instruction, hands-on lab work, and on-the-floor support to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

The ideal candidate will hold an AWS CWI or Senior CWI credential, have 5+ years of welding experience in railcar/heavy industrial environments, and be comfortable traveling up to 50% to support audits and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and AWS CWI / Senior CWI credential.
• 5+ years welding experience in railcar, tank car, or heavy industry.
• Experience administering welder qualification testing and training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain welding documentation (WPS, PQRs, and welder qualifications) and audit readiness.
• Deliver classroom welding instruction and hands-on lab training.
• Onboard welders ensuring required training and certifications before production.
• Travel between shop locations up to 50% to support training and audits.
• Support audits, NCR analysis, and corrective actions related to welding compliance.
• Collaborate with Shop Managers, Welding Leads, Quality, and Safety teams.
