Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in New York seeks an engineer to support rail structural design, perform complex analyses, and provide inspections in the field.

You’ll assist with planning, analysis, design, plan preparation, specifications, quantity and cost estimating, and report writing. You’ll collaborate with geotechnical, highway, and hydraulic engineers to coordinate project work and ensure objectives are met within time and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Substantial post-education engineering experience.
• Knowledge of construction drawing standards.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP, RAM Steel).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation and BIM tools (REVIT/Bentley).
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist on rail structural design projects and perform complex structural analysis and design.
• Provide field inspections and coordinate with geotechnical, highway, and hydraulic engineers.
• Assist with planning, analysis, design, plan preparation, specifications, quantity and cost estimating, and report writing.
