Job summary

Jacobs in New York is seeking an experienced Rail/Transit Design Manager to lead transportation infrastructure projects. You will oversee a large team of engineers, guide scheduling, coordination and technical work from concept through completion, and provide technical guidance to junior staff while engaging directly with clients.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines, ensure design standards, manage budgets, and mentor professionals in a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• Substantial years of progressive design management experience on rail/transit projects.
• Experience with Northeast transportation agencies (MTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NJTRANSIT, NJDOT, NJTPA).
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Previous leadership experience and client-facing duties.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with Project.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an expert on rail/transit projects and lead design teams.
• Oversee design for traditional and alternative delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CMAR, P3).
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with Owner Representatives, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to design standards, schedules, contract requirements and quality control.
