Cleveland-Cliffs Butler Works is seeking a Shift Manager for the Rail Transportation Department to supervise safety, equipment, and personnel, ensuring incident-free, high-quality rail service for plant operations. The role involves coordinating hourly union staff, rail service maintenance, and coordination with contractors to meet on-time delivery targets.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and provide work directions for hourly union employees and the rail service maintenance group.
• Assign manpower and equipment to load, unload, and move various railroad cars using cranes and locomotives while using our two-way interplant radio system.
• Work closely with foreign railroad partners to ensure on-time delivery and correct set-offs and pick-ups.
• Coordinate with contractors and operating departments to meet on-time delivery requirements consistently.
• Perform other duties as needed, including incident investigation and documentation.
