Job summary

Railserve is hiring dependable, safety-focused Transloaders in Port Arthur, TX to support daily rail and material handling operations at an industrial facility. This full-time, outdoor, hands-on role keeps railcars moving safely and efficiently, with training provided for individuals who are reliable and eager to learn.

The schedule features 4 days on/off patterns with 12-hour shifts (day and night) and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle equipment.
• Ability to climb on and off railcars, ladders, and platforms.
• Military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Verify railcar numbers and placement according to instructions.
• Assist with loading and unloading railcars using established procedures.
• Connect and disconnect hoses, valves, and transfer equipment.
• Operate switches, derails, and trackside equipment.
• Control movement of equipment using radio, hand signals, and visual indicators.
• Couple and uncouple railcars; handle air hoses and wheel chocks.
• Apply and release hand brakes to secure equipment.
• Inspect equipment and work areas for safety and cleanliness.
• Monitor operations and report any issues or hazards.
• Assist with basic locomotive and rail operations as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
