Job summary

Savage Services in Lima, Ohio is seeking a dependable rail operations worker to join our 12-hour shift team from 5 AM to 5 PM. This role involves safe loading and unloading of railcars carrying petroleum products, operating pumps and valves, and assisting with material transfers in a refinery environment.

You will perform inspections, complete accurate documentation, and maintain clean, safe work areas while coordinating with refinery staff and railroad crews.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial environment preferred or demonstrated safety focus.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Good communication with coworkers and supervisors.
• Willingness to work rotating schedules, overtime, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Railcar loading & unloading: Safely load and unload petroleum products and other bulk commodities from railcars.
• Equipment operations: Operate pumps, valves, loading arms, hoses, and related equipment.
• Product transfers: Move materials between railcars, storage tanks, and refinery systems.
• Inspection activities: Perform pre-use inspections of equipment and work areas.
• Documentation: Complete daily reports, shipping documents, and electronic entries.
• Housekeeping: Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
