Union Pacific Railroad invites you to join our Train Crew team. Train Crew employees are responsible for providing the safe and timely movement of customers' freight. Previous railroad experience is not required as we provide all necessary training.

The training class is 14 weeks; after training you may work road or yard service, with lodging provided for road assignments. In your first year, earnings around $80,000, with median gains over $100,000 after several years.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license.
• Clean driving record in past 36 months.
• Must not have been involved in drug or alcohol-related driving incidents.
• Must pass an English assessment before interview.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, locomotives, and rail cars to ensure safe operation.
• Operate remote control locomotives and perform routine tasks like coupling and braking.
• Communicate information to crews, yard controllers, and dispatchers via radio or hand signals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with railroad safety rules and FRA requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by a supervisor.
