Job summary

Olsson’s Rail Traffic team blends traffic engineering with railroad coordination and project delivery. You’ll engage directly with clients, manage projects, and contribute to design and preemption analyses while collaborating with Class I railroads and state DOTs.

This role emphasizes growth beyond technical design into project delivery and client service. The Project Engineer will assist with traffic and preemption analysis, participate in site visits, and help prepare plans and studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 6+ years of traffic or transportation engineering experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Synchro, or similar software

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and contribute to the review and preparation of plans and studies
• Collaborate closely with team members on complex projects
• Occasional travel to job sites for observation and client meetings
