Job summary

ASARCO LLC is seeking to directly and coordinate the safe movement of railroad traffic on all CBRY territory from Hayden, AZ. The role focuses on complying with railroad rules, monitoring train movements, and maintaining records to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The position requires clear communication by radio/intercom/phone, strong multitasking, basic math skills, and adherence to safety protocols. Candidates must pass safety exams and pre-employment checks where applicable.

Qualifications

• Verbal comprehension to understand oral and written communications (general and technical).
• Clear instruction delivery via radio, intercom or telephone.
• Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of safety rules and procedures; comply with training and drug screening requirements.
• Willingness to work nonstandard hours, overtime, and various shifts.
• Ability to pass required safety operating rules examinations and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate railroad traffic on CBRY territory.
• Issue permits and authorities; monitor rail movements and maintain records.
• Know assigned territory and stay informed of changes in physical characteristics.
• Monitor train and track movements; communicate weather or environmental conditions.
• Plan for smooth movement of priority trains and hazardous shipments.
• Report violations of operating rules and any irregularities in train movement.
