Job summary

R. J. Corman Railroad Company is seeking a Track Inspector to join our team in Dayton, TX. This role involves collaborating with the Track Supervisor to install and repair railroad track and to perform inspections using relevant machinery.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of track inspection/maintenance experience, a solid understanding of FRA regulations, and the ability to pass safety tests. Strong communication and multi-tasking abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of track inspection, repair and maintenance experience.
• Strong understanding of FRA rules and regulations required.
• Able to pass railroad safety test and training.
• Able to safely operate power tools.
• Must have good communication skills and good employee relations.
• Should be multi-task oriented and possess good analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Track Supervisor to install and repair railroad track and complete other projects as needed.
• Operate machinery to inspect the track.
• Complete all required documentation.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Perform track work tasks including pulling and driving spikes, replacing ties, surfacing track, changing rail or other track components.
