Job summary

Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company, is seeking a Track Assembler at the Reading, PA facility to build track panels, turnouts and crossings to customer specs. Training and full benefits start from day one, with competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

The role requires reading blueprints, using measuring devices, and working in a manufacturing environment to ensure precise assembly of rail components.

Qualifications

• Prior machine or grinder experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
• Familiar with manufacturing environment, use of industrial equipment and hand/tools.
• Able to read a tape measure to 1/32” and use gauges/calipers.
• Able to read and write production reports accurately.
• Strong attention to detail for rail inspection using measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints, engineering change documents and work instructions.
• Assemble, fabricate, grind and fit rail components for final trackwork assembly.
• Operate hand and power tools and inspection devices as required.
