Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team in Saint-Bruno, QC. The role emphasizes people leadership over hands-on design, guiding engineers across multiple programs and ensuring strategic resource planning.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 3+ years of people management, and strong systems engineering knowledge, with fluency in French and English. Hybrid onsite 3 days/week, 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of direct people management experience in engineering.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a complex technical environment.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles (requirements management, integration, verification, validation).
• Bilingual fluency in French and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of approximately 10–12 engineers.
• Oversee performance management, development plans, and career progression.
• Manage workload, resource allocation, and priorities across multiple programs.
• Support successful execution of new development projects and ongoing programs.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to align resources with objectives.
• Identify and remove roadblocks to maintain productivity and schedules.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
• Promote continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
• Ensure activities align with timelines, quality, and customer expectations.
