Job summary

Siemens Mobility, Lexington, NC, is seeking an entry-level Factory Commissioning Test Technician. The role trains you to commission, troubleshoot, and repair light rail, locomotives, and coaches, covering electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

You will work with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and must follow safety standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Prior experience and an associate degree in engineering or mechatronics are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or GED).
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical testing.
  • Must be proficient in electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or mechatronics program education or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical commissioning on locomotive and coach cars.
  • Troubleshoot, document, and repair electrical and mechanical failures.
  • Work with state-of-the-art diagnostic test equipment.
  • Understand and comply with company and industry safety standards.
  • Communicate with others, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work-related information.
  • Have ability to work independently and among a team with multi-disciplinary backgrounds.
  • Read, interpret and understand written or electronic schematics.
  • Use PTU’s to troubleshoot various systems onboard light rail, locomotive and coach vehicles.
