Job summary

PSC Group is hiring for a Rail Switching Technician to join our outdoor rail switching team in a full-time capacity. The role involves safely moving railcars within an industrial facility and supporting daily operations with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Typical duties include organizing railcars, securing connections, weighing cars, and performing related tasks. Paid training is provided, and long-term career opportunities exist within PSC Group’s safety-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience is a plus but not required; paid on-the-job training is available.
• May require a valid Driver’s License and/or a valid TWIC card depending on location.
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Wear all required PPE and pass medical exams.
• Must speak, read, write fluent English.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality required.
• Previous military experience and ability to follow procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review track lists to identify and organize railcars for spotting, separating, loading, or outbound movement.
• Ensure railcars are connected and secured by setting brakes and verifying couplings.
• Separate loaded cars for shipment from preloaded or empty railcars.
• Weigh inbound and outbound cars to confirm weight limits.
• Perform additional duties to support safe and efficient rail operations.
