Job summary

Valley Metro is hiring a Signal Systems Technician to install, maintain, and repair rail signal and fare systems, ensuring safety and efficiency of the network. You will work across signaling equipment, SCADA, and communications assets, supporting reliable passenger services.

Applicants need 2+ years in electromechanical/electronic systems and a valid AZ driver license; associate degree preferred. A DOT physical, drug testing, and background check are required.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience with electromechanical or electronic systems incl. Ohms Law.
  • Must be available to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
  • DOT physical, pre-employment drug test, background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic systems of LRT wayside signaling and fare collection equipment.
  • Tests and troubleshoots components, rewires systems, and tests equipment before service.
  • Responds to service emergencies with online troubleshooting and repair of signaling and fare systems.
  • Maintains parts and computer inventory records.
  • Compiles inspection and repair reports; notes equipment needing replacement.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on signaling and fare collection gear.
  • Investigates problems and takes corrective action.
