Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W) seeks a Signal Maintainer in Ashdown, AR to ensure signaling systems guiding train movements operate safely and reliably. Ideal candidates will read schematics, inspect circuitry, maintain signal equipment, and comply with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of high school diploma / GED and experience.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus or obtainable.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Pre-employment physical, hearing, and vision medical review; potential drug/alcohol testing; background screening.

Responsibilities

• Comply with federal, state, and railroad safety regulations.
• Inspect/test signal circuitry with standard testing equipment.
• Maintain batteries and signal equipment (grade-crossing devices, switches, controllers).
• Prepare inspection and repair reports; replace equipment as needed.
• Operate vehicles to install/test/maintain signals and related equipment.
• Respond to service interruptions to keep rail traffic moving safely.
