Job summary

Herzog Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Crewman in Plano, TX to assist in installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining train control systems and grade crossing warning devices on railroad signal projects.

You will work under a Signal Foreman with physical labor responsibilities and travel as needed. The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and safety certifications; DOT medical and drug screening are mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Driver's License Required.
• Pre-employment DOT physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen are required due to safety-sensitive nature.
• 45 days to obtain a Commercial Learner's Permit; 120 days to obtain a Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Assists in installation and repair of railroad signal and communication structures and components.
• Constructs forms and foundations for signal equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Lubricates moving parts on mechanical equipment such as switch machines.
• Sets up barricades to isolate potentially dangerous situations.
• Prepares and paints signal equipment.
• Installs, inspects, tests, repairs, and maintains signal, train control, and electrical equipment.
• Loads and unloads supplies; digs holes and trenches for cable; climbs poles and signal masts; handles cable and wire connections.
• Uses hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Cleans and maintains work areas; travels as required; submits daily activity logs.
