Job description

Join to apply for the Rail Safety Inspector role at State of South Carolina.

The South Carolina Office of Regulatory Staff (ORS) oversees utility regulation and railroad safety in South Carolina. Responsibilities include:

  • Track Inspector: Conduct compliance inspections of railroad track systems, maintenance machines, and personnel, ensuring adherence to CFR regulations.
  • Investigation Administrator: Plan, report, and coordinate inspections and investigations related to railroad safety and compliance.
  • Certification and Compliance: Maintain proficiency with CFR parts 213 and 214, attend relevant training.
  • Incident Investigator: Investigate significant train accidents and determine causes and regulatory compliance.
  • Complaint Investigator: Investigate safety-related complaints from employees, the public, or officials.

Additional notes:
