Job summary

Canyon Spirit is seeking a Manager, Operating Practices to provide operational leadership for safe, compliant, reliable RTR rail service. You will coach Dual Certified Locomotive Engineers and Conductors, drive regulatory compliance, and balance safety with service and on-time performance.

The role requires strong field leadership, regulatory knowledge, and collaboration with host railroads and regulators to execute the Integrated Operating Plan.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GCOR, FRA regulations, and operating practices.
• Experience in rail operations leadership and safety.
• Ability to lead and develop dual-certified engineers and conductors.
• Strong communication, investigation, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as operational authority for GCOR, FRA regs, and host-rail requirements.
• Oversee certification, qualification, testing, and regulatory programs.
• Lead field leadership, safety observations, audits, and investigations.
• Drive continuous improvement using data and Lean methods.
• Collaborate with departments, host railroads, and regulators to ensure safety and reliability.
