Job summary

Rocky Mountain Steel Mills in Pueblo, CO is seeking a Production Supervisor for Rolling & Finishing Operations to lead a skilled workforce in rolling, finishing, and quality control of steel rail products.

The role partners with Operations, Maintenance, Quality and Safety teams to meet production goals, improve equipment reliability and drive continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring a safe, compliant production environment.

Qualifications

Three years of steel manufacturing experience.
One year of front-line supervisory or team leadership experience.
Knowledge of rolling rail or special sections, sawing, and gag press operations.
High mechanical aptitude.
Proven communication skills, written and verbal.
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Associates degree in a technical field preferred.
Rail or special section finishing/rolling experience preferred.
Experience with database development, SPC, lean manufacturing, and Oracle modules preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

Lead rail rolling and finishing operations to produce high-quality rail products.
Conduct shift safety meetings and enforce safety policies.
Apply Lean tools to improve safety, quality, productivity, yield, and throughput.
Coach, train, and develop employees while promoting accountability and teamwork.
Monitor production performance, manage delays, and coordinate corrective actions.
Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to troubleshoot and optimize processes.
Ensure compliance with specifications, quality requirements, and traceability.
Schedule and manage workforce assignments to meet demand and training needs.
Administer labor relations activities and handle IARs and grievances.
Maintain and approve employee timecards in KRONOS and keep shift records accurate.
