Job summary

BNSF is seeking Conductor trainees at our Centralia location. This full-time role involves learning train operations, switching, and inspections while prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.

It requires frequent travel and on-call duties, with training at the company center in Overland Park, KS and a three-year recall structure to the primary location. Relocation is not offered; a 60-day probation applies.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Able to climb/descend ladders and access equipment.
• Must work safely in challenging conditions and shifts.
• Able to travel as required and work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, receive, and act on information via oral and written channels using multiple devices.
• Operate track switches and derails to route trains and verify alignment.
• Inspect trains and equipment per federal regulations; report conditions.
• Work in a safety-sensitive environment across diverse weather and terrain.
• Follow safety policies, wear PPE, and participate in safety conversations.
