Job summary

RailWorks is seeking an Equipment Operator to operate heavy equipment on railroad construction sites to build, repair and maintain track. This is a novice level position with a strong emphasis on safety.

You will inspect and operate backhoes and loaders, move materials, complete daily inspection reports, and coordinate with crew using hand signals. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation, with ability to travel.
• Knowledge of safety requirements and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret construction specifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and operate heavy equipment such as backhoes and loaders.
• Move, load, or unload materials and perform rail maintenance tasks.
• Operate equipment safely and in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Fill out daily inspection reports and coordinate with crew on site.
