Job summary

Bay State Rail seeks a high-level executive to lead the safe, reliable management of infrastructure assets for the Greater Boston commuter rail network. You will oversee maintenance, engineering oversight, asset reliability, regulatory compliance, and capital and maintenance coordination across track, signals, structures, facilities and depots.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional railroad engineering experience.
• Direct responsibility for infrastructure management services and rail assets.
• Experience in governance frameworks and railroad operating requirements.
• Direct experience working in a unionized labor environment.
• Strong knowledge of railroad infrastructure, signals/communications systems, asset reliability, FRA requirements, and PTC coordination.

Responsibilities

• Direct all infrastructure management services for track, signals, structures, and support assets.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations and governance frameworks.
• Lead infrastructure safety and security for employees and riders; manage inspections and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate daily with partner railroads, PTCS operators, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Oversee outage planning, access management, and shared corridor coordination.
• Lead engineering and maintenance teams in a unionized environment; drive accountability and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Transdev and Transport UK leaders on best practices.
