Job summary

Alpha Corporation seeks a Rail Construction Manager to oversee elements such as stations, bridges, roadways, and facilities. You will interpret plans and manage field operations across railway rights-of-way, coordinating with owners, contractors, and inspectors to drive project success.

Candidates should have a civil engineering background, 5+ years of railway construction management experience, and CCM eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar, focusing on construction/engineering management or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years managing railway-related station, bridge, roadway, facilities or infrastructure construction projects.
• CCM certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Strong teamwork, multitasking and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Ability to learn Smartsheet, Box, Teams and related software.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicle.
• Knowledge of project documentation control and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret project plans, specs, and contract documents to understand construction requirements.
• Maintain familiarity with RFIs, submittals, schedules, and look-ahead schedules to monitor progress.
• Perform field observations and monitor construction activities and conditions.
• Prepare Daily Field Reports with locations, progress, concerns, and photos.
• Support progress and pay reviews by comparing reported quantities to field records.
• Attend meetings and contribute notes for issue tracking.
• Assist with change-order evaluations using field observations and documents.
• Review inspection data and coordinate resolution of quality issues.
• Provide records management oversight and ensure proper transfer to the project system.
• Maintain professional communication with Owner, Construction Manager, contractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
