Job summary

Omaha Track, Inc. in Kansas City, MO is seeking a skilled Shop Technician to join the production shop. You will fabricate, repair, and service Rail Welding and other railroad maintenance equipment, reading blueprints and ensuring quality.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, hands-on experience in heavy mechanical systems and welding, and a valid driver's license. This is a full-time, on-site role offering hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade education preferred.
• Experience in heavy mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and welding.
• Verbal and written communication skills; fluent English.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and service rail welding and other equipment at the KC shop.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate assembly.
• Perform quality checks on finished equipment or systems.
• Complete paperwork and checklists for each project.
• Skid and crate equipment for shipping.
• Maintain cleanliness and 5S in the production area.
• Adhere to safety briefings and railroad/Omaha Track guidelines.
