Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of electronics passive and active components.
  • Understand electrical generation and control of an alternator output.
  • Experience with automation control of industrial processes.
  • Training in both digital and analog electronic circuits.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assignments within a department or activity which utilizes the employee’s academic discipline.
  • Support locomotive product cost initiatives by collaborating with supply chain, product services, engineering, and manufacturing.
  • Track failure modes and workforce productivity through data; recommend improvements.
  • Assist in the locomotive design process and monitor failures to minimize downtime and speed repairs.
  • Attend turnover meetings with Progress Rail and class 1 railroad customers.
  • Assist with safety contacts, updates, or best practices; perform quality inspections on high failure items.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic environment and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Frequent contact with others outside the work group; work in a shop environment; travel as required.
