Job summary

Stadler Rail Group is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to design, integrate, test, and validate electrical systems for modern passenger trains. You will work on power distribution, vehicle controls, HVAC, lighting, and onboard technology, collaborating with international teams and suppliers.

The role involves hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and system validation across North American projects, with opportunities to contribute to safety and performance improvements while traveling

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience for mid-level candidates.
  • Experience in rail, aerospace, defense, automotive or related industries valued.
  • Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking mindset.
  • Able to communicate technical concepts clearly in English.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate systems such as HVAC, lighting, fire protection, entry systems, and passenger tech.
  • Design and support vehicle power distribution, battery systems, converters, and onboard architecture.
  • Support train control, safety, monitoring, and communication systems.
  • Define system requirements, interfaces, and technical specifications.
  • Create engineering docs, schematics, test plans, and verification records.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and teams worldwide.
