Job summary

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in field visits and apply applicable codes and client requirements while advancing your technical and professional skills in a collaborative HDR environment.

Qualifications

• EIT certification or plans to pursue licensure.
• FE Exam planned/completed or in progress.
• Internship/co-op experience in engineering/transportation/infrastructure.
• Experience with engineering/design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, MicroStation, Revit, GIS or Bluebeam.
• Construction inspection/field surveying experience.
• Interest in freight rail, transit, industrial or transportation infrastructure.
• Familiarity with railroad design, bridges, rail facilities and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, construction and delivery of rail infrastructure projects.
• Assist with calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, environmental, advisory and construction disciplines.
• Participate in site visits, field assessments and project walkthroughs.
• Apply codes, standards and client requirements to project work.
• Use engineering tools to support project development and delivery.
• Learn from experienced engineers and project managers to develop skills.
• Travel periodically for project meetings and field assignments.

Education

Engineer-in-Training certification (EIT)

What You’ll Have the Opportunity to:

• Support the planning, design, construction and delivery of rail infrastructure projects.
• Assist with technical deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, exhibits and cost estimates.
• Contribute to a variety of projects involving track, facilities, structures, civil infrastructure, environmental services, construction field services, and advisory support.
• Participate in site visits, field assessments, inspections, and project walkthroughs.
• Utilize engineering, design and analytical tools to support project development and delivery.
• Research and apply applicable codes, standards, regulations and client requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, environmental, advisory, technology and construction disciplines.
• Work alongside experienced engineers, project managers and technical specialists to develop your technical and professional skills.
• Travel periodically for project meetings, field assignments, client-related activities and construction support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or plans to pursue professional licensure.
• Successful completion of, or plans to take, the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
• Internship, co-op, research, field or project experience related to engineering, transportation, construction or infrastructure.
• Experience with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, MicroStation, Revit, GIS, structural analysis software, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
• Construction inspection, field assessment or surveying experience.
• Interest in freight rail, transit, industrial, port or transportation infrastructure projects.

• Familiarity with railroad design, bridge structures, rail facilities, construction management or related disciplines.
