Job summary

Watco is seeking a Student Conductor for on-site role at Donaldsonville, LA. The position includes paid on-the-job training and opportunities for career growth within Watco's rail and logistics network. No prior experience required and on-site interviews will be conducted.

Starting pay is $21.00 per hour, increasing to $24.50 per hour once certified; rotating 2-2-3 schedule (days/nights) from 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am. This full-time role supports switching railcars and rail operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass Conductor Certification testing within about a year.
• Must have valid driver's license and TWIC card.
• Willingness to obtain locomotive engineer certification after conductor certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain reliable attendance and follow safety procedures.
• Read instructions and communicate with crew via radios and signals.
• Operate locomotives and position railcars safely.
• Couple/uncouple railcars and manage track switches.
• Record railcar movements and cargo details.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
