Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic Deployment Manager to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The role is based in Oakland, California, with responsibilities spanning administrative to strategic tasks in project deployment for the CBTC rail system.

You will oversee deployment activities, coordinate with multiple teams, manage milestones, and ensure safety and quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Deployment Manager in rail/transport projects (5–7+ years).
• Familiarity with CBTC systems and related technologies.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience managing subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Familiarity with contractual obligations and technical aspects of projects.
• Knowledge of Design-Build project processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee deployment phase of the CBTC project, ensuring timely implementation.
• Coordinate with Hitachi Rail teams and stakeholders to meet milestones.
• Review project activity planning to identify critical milestones and priorities.
• Present project status to client and serve as primary contact for deployment activities.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Represent the project at site coordination meetings with client and stakeholders.
• Report progress, forecast risks, and flag deviations of scope, schedule, or cost.
