Job summary

Transco Railway Products, Inc. is hiring an Entry-Level Repair Technician in Buffalo, NY. You will perform basic repairs on railcar components, reading layouts, work orders, and blueprints while using welding and mechanical tools.

The role emphasizes teamwork in a structured shift (Mon–Fri, 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.), with a pay range starting at $24.39 per hour and a strong benefits package. You must be able to lift 50 pounds and pass a drug screen.

You will repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches. You will be responsible for performing a variety of rail car repair related tasks and working in a TEAM environment, establishing good working relationships at all levels. This is an hourly position starting at $24.39.

Shift

First Shift Only - Monday – Friday (06:30 a.m.-03:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements

• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes.
• Stick welding - required.
• Mechanical experience preferred.
• Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test.
• The ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.
• Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.
• Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards.
• Able to pass drug screen, physical.
