Job summary

voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak LLC in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Rail Bender to bend, curve and surface rail for production according to prints and specs. You will operate a hydraulic press, read schedules, and work with minimal supervision in a safety‑minded environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift and crane certification preferred, and the ability to read work orders, ITPs, blueprints, rulers and tape measures.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED preferred.
• Forklift and Crane certification preferred.
• Ability to read work orders, ITP’s, blue prints, rulers and tape measures.
• Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Bend, curve and surface rail for switch point stock rails and traffic using a hydraulic horizontal press.
• Minimal deburring of rail with hand grinder.
• Read and follow production schedule.
• Safely operate jib and overhead cranes.
• Able to work with little supervision.
• Heat rail with torches per work instructions.
• Adhere to Nortrak’s Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned
