voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak is hiring a Rail Bender for our Pueblo, Colorado operations. The role focuses on bending, curving and finishing rail to match prints and specifications for production.

Key tasks include operating a hydraulic press, light deburring, following schedules, and safely using cranes. The position requires a high school diploma (GED acceptable) and preferred forklift/crane certifications, with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Forklift and Crane certification preferred.
• Ability to read work orders, blueprints, rulers and tape measures.
• Basic mathematical calculation: add/subtract, fractions, decimals.

Responsibilities

• Bend, curve and surface rail for switch point stock rails and traffic using a hydraulic horizontal press.
• Minimal deburring of rail with hand grinder.
• Read and follow production schedule.
• Safely operate jib and overhead cranes.
• Able to work with little supervision.
• Heat rail with torches per work instructions.
• Adhere to safety, quality and environmental procedures.

Job Requirements (e.g. education, experience, skills and desired competencies)

• High School graduate or GED preferred
• Forklift and Crane certification preferred
• Ability to read work orders, ITP’s, blue prints, rulers and tape measures
• Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals

Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and pushing, pulling, or lifting objects for the duration of your required schedule shift.
• Use hands and arms to operate tools, handle materials, and reach for the duration of your required scheduled shift.
• Regularly lift and carry 30–35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Hearing abilities necessary to perform job tasks safely and effectively.

Salary:

• $21.64/hr
