Job summary

Responsibilities

• Insures the comfort of the patient and maintains patient privacy while transporting
• Transports safely using wheelchairs and stretchers
• Checks two forms of patient identification prior to transporting
• Completes an In-Patient transport within 20 minutes - Leave to Return and communicates delays back to department
• Transports any other required items; documents, equipment, specimens etc. to proper department
• Stocks linen and fluid in warming cabinets, documents temperature and labels solutions for expiration
• Assists radiology staff in all areas of perioperative services
• Assists in informing patient family/friends of patient's disposition.
