Job summary

Henry Ford Macomb Hospital is seeking a Radiology Technologist Assistant to perform a wide range of clerical, technical, and patient-related duties under general supervision. You will support the Radiology team and provide essential care across imaging services.

Responsibilities include assisting patients and staff in Radiology Imaging Departments, explaining procedures, aiding with EHR data entry, preparing rooms, stocking supplies, answering phones, and transporting patients throughout the

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Medical knowledge and terminology preferred.
• One year clinical experience preferred.
• BLS certification required upon hire or during orientation to department.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and staff in Radiology Imaging Departments
• Explain examination procedures to patients, help prepare them for the exam and review any screening forms associated with the exam.
• Assist Radiology/Imaging Team with Electronic Health Record data entry.
• Prepare procedure room and work areas to ensure stock is replenished (linen and related supplies) and the area is kept neat and clean.
• Perform clerical duties to include answering telephones, patient scheduling, RIS functions.
• Transport and escort patients to and from Radiology, both in hospital and ambulatory settings Performs other duties as assigned.

General Summary:

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of clerical, technical, and patient related duties according to established protocols. The Radiology Technologist Assistant is responsible for assisting members of the Radiology team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams/procedures and patient transporting. May be assigned to work in a variety of imaging sections, assist multiple radiology modalities and /or clinical services per operational needs. Performs related duties as required.
